Key Responsibilities
● Cut, trim, debone, and prepare meat (beef, poultry, lamb, etc.)
● Operate meat processing equipment (knives, saws, grinders, slicers)
● Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of meat products
● Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and tools
● Inspect meat for quality, freshness, and safety
● Package, label, and price meat products accurately
● Provide customer service and product recommendations (retail settings)
● Follow food safety regulations and workplace health standards
● Minimize waste and manage inventory levels
Qualifications & Skills
● Previous experience as a butcher or meat cutter preferred
● Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts
● Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
● Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items
● Attention to detail and time management skills
● Customer service skills (especially in retail environments)
● Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays if required
