JOB TITLE: CFO (CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER)
NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME
SALARY: KSHS.450,000
JOB LOCATION: DRC
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with overall corporate objectives.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board on financial performance, investment opportunities, and growth initiatives.
- Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting, and capital allocation.
Financial Management & Control
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Manage large-scale budgets and complex financial operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial systems.
Corporate Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and corporate governance standards in DRC.
- Liaise with auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions.
- Implement and maintain risk management frameworks and internal audit processes.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and banking relationships.
- Manage foreign exchange exposure and financial risk in a dynamic market environment.
- Optimize working capital and capital structure.
Operational & Commercial Support
- Partner with operations and commercial teams to drive profitability and cost optimization.
- Evaluate business performance metrics and provide actionable financial insights.
- Support expansion strategies, M&A, and investment analysis where applicable.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Build strong financial capabilities across the organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and performance excellence.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Finance, or equivalent).
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
- Extensive experience in the FMCG sector.
- Proven track record managing large budgets and complex, multi-entity financial structures.
- Strong corporate governance and regulatory compliance expertise.
- Experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo or similar African markets is a strong advantage.
