Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Chef role based in the Maasai Mara. The Chef will lead their kitchen in creating exceptional dining experiences for guests, ranging from locally inspired dishes to international cuisine. Responsibilities include menu planning, sourcing quality ingredients, food preparation, managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards, and maintaining high service levels. The Chef will play a key role in aligning menus with Olarro's unique brand vision.
Qualifications
- Proven skills in menu planning, food presentation, and innovative recipe creation.
- Strong leadership abilities, team management capabilities, and organizational skills to oversee kitchen operations effectively.
- Thorough understanding of food safety, kitchen hygiene practices, and inventory management.
- Ability to source and work with local ingredients while maintaining quality standards.
- Experience in international cuisine and the ability to adapt to guest preferences.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Formal culinary training or certification is an advantage.
- Prior experience as a Senior Chef preferably in luxury safari settings will be highly regarded.
