Location: Kenya
Reporting To: Board of Directors / Group Portfolio Manager
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Growth
o Develop and execute the company’s strategic plan, aligned with the overall group objectives.
o Identify new market opportunities, including export destinations, importer partnerships, and value-added services.
o Lead business expansion initiatives and strategic partnerships to grow the Mazao platform ecosystem.
2. Operations & Platform Management
o Oversee the end-to-end operations of the platform, ensuring seamless onboarding of exporters, importers, logistics partners, and processors.
o Ensure operational eciency, process optimization, and compliance with local and international trade regulations.
o Monitor performance metrics, optimize workows, and implement best practices for platform management.
3. Financial Management
o Oversee budgeting, nancial planning, and revenue growth.
o Partner with banks and nancial institutions to ensure seamless nancial services integration for platform users.
o Drive cost eciency and protability without compromising service quality.
4. Stakeholder Management & Relationship Building
o Foster strong relationships with exporters, importers, logistics companies, food processors, regulatory authorities, and nancial partners.
o Represent AMAC in high-level negotiations, trade forums, and industry events.
5. Team Leadership & Talent Management
o Build and lead a high-performing executive team, cultivating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
o Mentor and develop senior management to ensure succession planning and organizational resilience.
6. Risk & Compliance Oversight
o Ensure compliance with trade regulations, nancial regulations, and corporate governance standards.
o Identify, mitigate, and manage operational, nancial, and strategic risks.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, or related eld (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in agribusiness, international trade, or platform-based marketplaces.
• Proven track record of scaling businesses, managing multi-stakeholder platforms, and achieving revenue growth.
• Strong nancial acumen, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of export-import regulations, trade nance, and logistics management is highly desirable.
