From 1969- 1975 the hospital had majorredevelopment leading to a new hospital adjacent to the old hospital. The old hospital buildings were taken over by theClive Irvine College of Nursing which was started in 1951 and named in honor of the hospital founder Dr. Clive Irvine.
PCEA Chogoria Hospital is a not-for-profit faith based organization that provides quality health care services andtraining. It is registered under the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board Act Cap 253 rule 4 (3) and adheres tothe statutory regulations of the health sector regulatory bodies in discharging its mandate.
JOB SUMMARY
Required Qualifications and ExperienceEducationMinimum diploma in NursingRegistered with the Nursing Council of KenyaValid practice licenseOthersAt least two (2) years of professional experience at a recognized and busy hospital.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work in a teamDemonstrate high level of integrityDemonstrate high level of and self-driveDuties and ResponsibilitiesTeaching and supervision, direct instruction, and guidance to students in a clinical settingSupport curriculum implementation and aligning clinical experiences with learning objectives.Participate in organizing and scheduling clinical placements, rotations, evaluate student performance and progress during their clinical placements.Provide an orientation for students to clinical sites including schedulesCoordinating with relevant officers to initiate MOUs with facilities for clinical placement of nursing students.Supervision and provision of practical instruction (skills and procedures) for students in the skills lab and the clinical setupStocktaking and ensuring all supplies are available for skills practice in the skills laboratory.Monitor student progress to ensure stated objectives are adequately addressed and metConducting formative clinical assessments.Academic advising of students.Serve as a role model and mentor for nursing studentsOther duties as assigned.
