About us
We are a faith-based charitable organization supporting communities in the informal settlements of Mukuru, South B, Nairobi. The organization was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1985 in response to the community challenges in the Mukuru Informal Settlements. It is situated at the heart of the Industrial Area, along the New Likoni Road just 1 km off Mombasa Road and borders the Mukuru Kayaba Informal Settlement. Â

About Mary Immaculate Clinic
Mary Immaculate Clinic is a department under Mukuru Promotion Centre that provides outpatient services such as medical consultation, medical laboratory diagnostics, minor surgeries, pharmacy, VCT and a nutrition centre for the malnourished children and adults.Â

Qualifications and Experience
Requirements.  Diploma in clinical medical and Surgery from a recognized institution. At least five (5) years relevant work experience in a busy hospital. Must be registered by the Clinical Officers Council in Kenya.Â

Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
1. Technical and Operational Responsibilities Conduct patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations and diagnostic tests among others. Â
2. Provide consultation services to patients in the staff clinic, diagnosing, giving health education, counselling, and treatment. Â
3. Take patients notes, examine, and document all findings both for legal reference and for the benefit of medical staff.Â
4. Liaise with other service providers to ensure efficient and effective management of patients.Â
5. Refer patients to the clinic, x-ray units, laboratory, external doctors, and other service providers in a timely manner as and when required.Â
6. Undertake continuous evaluation of patient s response to plan of care and modify as needed.Â
7. Carry out specific medical and surgical procedures.Â
8. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice at all times as is required of a healthcare professional.Â
9. Promote disease prevention and well-being through education, write-ups, and wellness programmes/ initiatives.Â
10. Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in service provision.Â
11. Participate in formulation of customer satisfaction survey questionnaire and implementation of interventions to ensure quality experience at the staff clinic.Â
12. Keep up to date with medical developments, new drugs, treatments and medications, including complementary medicine. Â
13. Provide Guidance, Counselling / advice services to clients on health matters.Â
14. Ensure working environment and waste disposal is according to the established procedures. Advocate on behalf of patients and makes ethical decisions related to consent and confidentiality.Â
15. Contribute to the planning and implementation of the clinic budget and business plan and ensure budget optimization.Â
16. Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, guidelines and related legislations. Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Â
