Job summary
The College Accountant is responsible for managing the college’s day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial policies and regulations.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Monitor college budgets, expenditure, income, and cash flow.
Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Reconcile bank accounts and investigate financial discrepancies.
Process payroll information and liaise with payroll providers where required.
Monitor student fee payments, outstanding balances, refunds, and other college income.
Prepare financial information for management, governors, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Support internal and external audits and provide requested financial documentation.
Ensure financial procedures comply with applicable legislation, accounting standards, and college policies.
Maintain appropriate financial controls and identify potential financial risks.
Manage purchase orders, expenses, petty cash, and staff claims.
Maintain confidential financial records and ensure appropriate data protection.
Provide financial advice and support to senior management and college departments.
