COUNTER SALES OFFICER – RECEIVING & INVENTORY
Job summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Counter Sales Officer to handle customer sales, receiving, invoicing and inventory control. The successful candidate will ensure that all stock received and sold is accurately captured in the system and that physical stock consistently reconciles with system balances.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend to customers and process counter sales professionally.
- Prepare quotations, sales orders, invoices and receipts.
- Receive incoming construction materials and verify quantities against delivery documentation.
- Capture all received stock accurately into the inventory system.
- Process sales and ensure all stock issued is properly deducted from the system.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements, returns and adjustments.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them against system balances.
- Investigate and report stock variances, shortages or excesses.
- Coordinate with the stores, sales, procurement and finance teams.
- Monitor stock levels and report low-stock or unusual stock movements.
- Ensure proper filing of invoices, delivery notes and other stock documentation.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and transaction accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma/Certificate in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Accounting or a related field.
- Previous experience in counter sales, receiving, stores or inventory management.
- Experience in the construction/building materials industry will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in computerised inventory/POS/ERP systems.
- Good knowledge of stock reconciliation and invoicing.
- Competent in MS Excel and general computer applications.
