Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Creative Arts instructor to join our dynamic team. As a Creative arts instructor, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a stimulating and engaging learning environment for primary school students.

  • Minimum Qualification: Diploma
  • Experience Level: Mid level
  • Experience Length: 2 years

Job Description/Requirements

Curriculum Development:

  • Develop creative and interactive lesson plans that align with the primary school curriculum. Integrate various teaching methodologies, including project-based learning, arts integration, and experiential learning to enhance student engagement.
  • Run and manage an after school arts club where learners will be developing their skills in art through fun art activities. (Co-curriculum Development)


Classroom Management:

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and respected.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote a conducive learning atmosphere.


Differentiated Instruction:

  • Identify individual learning needs and adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Provide personalized support to students to ensure their academic and social-emotional growth.

Integration of Arts and Technology:

  • Infuse arts and technology into lessons to stimulate creativity and innovation.
  • Utilize multimedia resources, digital tools, and hands-on activities to enrich the learning experience.
  • Take care of the tablets, other digital tools and materials in his/her possesion.
  • You will also be part of the development of a creativity lab together with Leap learning, an organization that is sponsoring the same (leaplearning.com)
  • Guiding, training and supporting teachers to develop and apply creativity teaching methods in all the subjects they teach.


Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders to support student learning and well-being.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns. 


Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Assess student performance using a variety of assessment methods, including formative and summative assessments.
  • Use assessment data to inform instruction and provide constructive feedback to students.


Professional Development:

  • Stay updated on current trends and best practices in primary education, particularly in the realm of creativity and innovation.
  • Participate in professional development activities and workshops to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.


Qualifications:

  • A degree, diploma or certificate in any training, he or she MUST be talented and passionate about creativity as a core competency in the CBC curriculum.  A trained teacher will have an added advantage. This should not be construed to mean the teaching of visual and performing arts as a curriculum subject only. We are more interested on the practical aspect of the subject that is not limited to drawing, painting, dancing, drama, music performance, spoken word, beadwork, e.t.c  (The candidate MUST be in a position to teach and train learners on visual and performing arts, the candidate will have to attach his/her photos showing what he/she has done or is able to do pertaining the creative industry as a proof of evidence to the recruiting board)
  • Proven experience working with children on any level of education, with a focus on creative arts instruction, teaching methods and practical aspects of the same.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for fostering creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking in young learners.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and create an inclusive learning environment.


The students we work with are aged between 4 - 14 years old. It is also good to note that this is a full-time job.
