Reports To: Credit Risk Manager
The Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for assessing creditworthiness, analyzing financial data, evaluating risk exposure, and providing recommendations that support prudent lending decisions in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze loan applications and assess clients’ creditworthiness.
• Evaluate financial statements, cash flows, leverage ratios, and collateral adequacy.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate credit limits and terms.
• Monitor existing loan portfolios and identify early warning signs of default.
• Prepare detailed credit appraisal reports and risk analysis summaries.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
• Keep up to date with legal, compliance, and market risk developments.
• Support the development and improvement of credit scoring models and risk frameworks.
• Present risk findings and recommendations to management clearly and professionally.
• Work closely with Credit, Sales, Collections, and Compliance teams to manage portfolio risk.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounts, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven working experience of 1–3 years as a Credit Analyst, preferably in a microfinance or financial institution.
• Proficiency in statistical packages and financial software.
• Strong ability to analyze cash flows, leverage, collateral structures, and overall customer financial strength.
• Up to date with legal, compliance, and market risk-related issues.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making ability.
