JOB SUMMARY
EducationBachelor’s degree plus 8 years of relevant humanitarian logistics and management experience in emergency contexts; or a Master’s degree plus at least 5 years of experience implementing humanitarian programming.Preferred certifications: professional certification or advanced training in logistics and/or supply chain management.Professional ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role.Experience working with bilateral and multilateral humanitarian donors, as well as international donor procurement rules.Relevant experience in fraud detection and compliance.Preferred QualificationsFluency in English.Strong leadership, people‑management, and cross‑cultural communication skills.Experience utilizing data analytics software and/or AI to support the development of reports and efficient ways of working.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage supply strategies and procurement plans, maintain vetted supplier databases, validate vendors, ensure transparent processes, and track deliveries to prevent shortages or waste.Develop strategies to ensure supplies are procured during complex emergency situations.Oversee regional procurement and supply chain processes to support global outbreak response and humanitarian-related programming.Leads security planning by updating movement protocols and monitoring incidents that affect logistics operations.Supports country logistics teams through recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and capacity building.Produce regular logistics reports, support donor reporting, and conduct internal supply chain audits with follow‑up on corrective actions.Remotely supervise warehouse operations (as needed), ensure proper storage conditions, conduct stock counts, and implement practices that prevent losses or stock-outs.Represent logistics in regional coordination meetings and may conduct field visits to provide technical support and operational oversight.Builds country office capacities in inventory and warehouse management, ensuring teams are trained and equipped with the tools to succeed.Other tasks as assigned.
