Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Coordinate recruitment processes, including shortlisting, interview coordination, and onboarding.

· Maintain and update employee personal files, contracts, and HR databases.

· Prepare Human Resources correspondence such as appointment, confirmation, promotion, transfer, letters with the support and guidance of the head of HR function

· Support payroll processing by compiling attendance, leave records, and staff changes.

· Prepare and monitor implementation of leave calendars and also ensure other leaves are as per the policy.  

· Coordinate staff training, induction, and capacity-building programmes.

· Support staff welfare initiatives and organisation of staff activities.

· Assist in implementing HR policies and ensure compliance with the Employment Act, 2007 and other labour laws.

· Support performance appraisal processes and proper filing of appraisal records.

· Prepare periodic HR reports, including staff establishment, turnover, and disciplinary records.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field; IHRM membership is an added advantage.

· At least 1–2 years’ experience in an HR or administrative role, preferably within a SACCO or financial institution.

· Sound knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices.

· Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision while demonstrating effective time management.

· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and HR information systems.
