Job Description SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company.Main duties and responsibilities: Shall facilitate strategic intent of the company and of the client on QHSEProject’s local day-to-day implementation of OIMS and clients EHS systemsEnsuring records associated with HSE, Security and Sustainability arrangements as specified in reference OIMS/EHS systems are maintained.Ensure that all open actions are closed in a timely manner by coordinating with key account manager, local management, and Country OI Manager.Escalating any Health & Safety, Environmental and Sustainability problems that cannot be resolved locally via the OI reporting structure and clients reporting system structure.Create framework for an integrated management systemTailor procedures and processes for reliability and maintainabilityAssist line management with the implementation of relevant ISO systems – where applicableCreate quality, safety and environmental awareness at all staff levelsPerform internal audits and assessmentsImplement non-conformance reporting and a corrective/preventative action system and follow-up all corrective, remedial actions and complaintsSupport and implement a hazard, near-miss and incident reporting and a corrective/preventative action systemManage medical surveillance and biological monitoringManage any government related safety and environmental requirementsFleet monitoring, reporting and corrective actionsTraining on EHS and OI related topicsPerformance of hazard identification and risk assessments, EHS documentation review and compliance checks.Assist with incident investigationsCompile monthly Global Safety ReportTravel onsite to support SGS staff and managers on the ground within the business lines throughout the assigned area of responsibilityAt all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional ConductCarry out any other assignment as may be advised from time to time QualificationsQualifications, Experience and Competencies Hold a B.Sc. in social science, horticulture, Agricultural sciences or any other relevant course (with an element of safety) from a recognized universityProfessional Health and Safety qualification is an added advantageNEBOSH International General Certificate (added advantage)2 Years quality management system experience2 Years safety management system experienceHave a valid certificate of good conductGood interpersonal and communication skills – grassroot experience preferred.Sensitive to set timelines and targetsPhysically fit, hardworking, honest and performance drivenMust be computer literateMust have a valid riding licenseExcellent communication skills and a team player.Basic knowledge of HSE standards and riding competency are added advantages
