Job Summary

The Facility Maintenance Officer is responsible for overseeing building operations, maintenance staff, and ensuring health and safety standards are met. Their duties include managing facility maintenance, running a help desk, handling budget and cost control, and managing subcontractors. The role requires strong project management skills for renovations and new developments.

Job Description/Requirements

Key responsibilities and duties

· Staff and operations management: Supervise maintenance and cleaning staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

· Maintenance: Oversee both planned and reactive property and equipment maintenance.

· Budgeting: Manage and control facility-related costs.

· Contractor and vendor management: Manage subcontractors and third-party vendors.

· Health and safety: Ensure the facility meets all health and safety standards and regulatory compliance.

· Project management: Handle renovations, capital projects, and new developments. 

· Asset management: Overseeing the maintenance of the organization's physical assets.

· Staff supervision: Supervising, training, and evaluating maintenance staff. 

· 

Typical background and skills

· Experience: Previous experience in property, facilities, and project management is common.

· Skills: Includes skills in customer service, contract management, project planning, and project management.

· Education: A background in Facilities or construction management or a related field like plumbing and electrical is beneficial. 

· Experience Minimum of 2-5 years experience as a facility officer or relevant position 

· Knowledge of facilities management, including project management and maintenance procedures
