DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Support

·       Assist in developing fashion concepts, mood boards, and seasonal collections.

·       Prepare design sketches, technical drawings, and garment specifications.

·       Support the lead designer in creating customized designs based on client requirements.

·       Keep up to date with current fashion trends, fabrics, colours, and styling techniques.

Fabric & Material Selection

·       Assist in sourcing suitable fabrics, trims, accessories, and other production materials.

·       Evaluate fabric quality, colour consistency, texture, and suitability for different garment designs.

·       Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of production materials.

Production Coordination

·       Work closely with tailors and production staff to ensure garments are produced according to design specifications.

·       Interpret design sketches and communicate technical requirements clearly to the production team.

·       Monitor production progress and help resolve design or construction challenges.

 Quality Control

·       Inspect garments at various stages of production to ensure quality standards are maintained.

·       Verify garment measurements, stitching quality, finishing, and overall workmanship before delivery.

·       Ensure completed garments accurately match approved designs and customer specifications.

·       Identify defects and coordinate necessary alterations or corrections.

Customer & Administrative Support

·       Assist during client consultations, fittings, and alteration appointments where required.

·       Record customer measurements and maintain accurate design and production records.

·       Organize design files, fabric samples, and production documentation.

·       Support inventory management for fabrics, trims, and production supplies.

Team Collaboration

·       Collaborate effectively with designers, tailors, cutters, and other production staff.

·       Contribute creative ideas to improve designs and production efficiency.

·       Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.

·       Perform any other duties assigned in support of the design and production process.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

·       Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or a related field.

·       Minimum of 2 years' experience in a fashion design house, garment production company, or tailoring workshop.

·       Experience assisting in garment design and production processes.

·       Familiarity with garment construction, pattern interpretation, and quality assurance practices.

·       Strong creativity and artistic ability.

·       Excellent sketching and design visualization skills.

·       Good understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and finishing techniques.
