Reporting to: Team Lead IT Services
Role Purpose
● Execution of on-site company IT installation projects that cut across technology include both infrastructure and software deployments to ensure optimal infrastructure and software that enable the company to achieve its business goals and meet customer expectations. He/she will implement installation plans and schedules.
● He or She should have a strong understanding of a range of CCTV and access control products and the underpinning theory as to how they operate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Installation & Configuration
● Install, troubleshoot, and maintain CCTV surveillance systems (IP & analog).
● Install and configure Access Control systems, including biometric readers, card readers, controllers, and electric locks.
● Run and terminate cables (Cat6, fiber, alarm cable, power cable).
● Perform camera positioning, focusing, lens adjustment, and NVR/DVR configuration and setup.
● Install and test door hardware (mag locks, strike locks, sensors, egress buttons).
System Maintenance & Support
● Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on installed systems.
● Troubleshoot faults in hardware, software, power supply, and network components.
● Provide on‑site technical support, training, and system demonstrations to clients.
● Upgrade firmware, replace faulty components, and optimize system performance
Technical Design & Client Engagement
● Conduct site surveys to understand customer needs and security challenges.
● Design cost‑effective, technically accurate CCTV and Access Control solutions.
● Advise clients on the best technologies, layouts, and equipment placements.
● Prepare BOQs, schematics, and technical proposals
Networking & Integration
● Configure IP addresses, VLANs, routers, switches, and access points.
● Ensure CCTV and Access Control systems integrate smoothly into client networks.
● Work with cloud‑based or remote viewing platforms (e.g., mobile apps, web clients)
Electrical & Safety Awareness
● Perform basic electrical wiring and power distribution for security systems.
● Ensure all installations adhere to safety standards, cable management best practices, and proper grounding.
● Any other duties as assigned by the line manager
Education, Experience & Professional Knowledge
• Diploma in IT, Telecommunications, or another related field.
• Professional Certification; Structured cabling system, Vendor training certificates on Security systems or Equivalent certifications
• 3yrs experience in Information Technology Projects
• Experience in extra low voltage installations and troubleshooting
• Experience in IOT Installations will be an added advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies:
• Experience in installation service/maintenance, testing & commissioning of CCTV, Access Controls, Electrical Sensors and IOT devices
• Have proven electrical / electronic skills
• In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, WAN, WiFi and router installation
• General understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP
• Familiar with the technical aspects of IT hardware and Software System and technology used in different field projects.
• An excellent problem-solver and be able to manage crises when they arise.
• Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to co-workers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology
