Full Stack Engineer

• Experience with new product design and/or start-ups preferred

• API design

• HTML, CSS, Javascript (highly skilled)

• Node.js

• RESTful API

• Javascript MVC frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, Backbone, Ember)

• Python, C++, Java

• Relational databases, distributed databases (e.g. Postgres, Cassandra, Bigtable)

• Version Control (e.g. Git)

• Strong OOD/OOP skills, experience designing modular, object-oriented javascript

• Significant development experience in large-scale and highly interactive javascript applications

• Writes code which is reliable, testable, and maintainable

• Smart, excellent problem solving skills

• Curious, love for turning ideas into reality

• Productive, self motivated

• Creative, collaborative, diligent

• Strong attention to detail with ability to understand the big picture

• Learner, interested in new skills and adapting to new technologies

• Ability to work with geographically distributed and culturally diverse team

• Deep experience designing/developing RESTful APIs

• Experience with application scaffolding, automation and development tools, and dependency management (e.g. Yeoman, Bower, Grunt, Gulp)

• Experience with Javascript testing frameworks (e.g. Karma, Jasmine, Mocha)

• Experience with CSS pre-compilers (e.g. LESS, SASS)

• Experience with Data Visualization tools like D3.js, three.js, and more generally, SVG, HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, etc

• Experience with Mapbox/TileMill/Leaflet is a plus

• Experience building web applications, start to finish is a plus.

• Knowledge of machine learning or geospatial datasets is a plus

• Secondary skill in machine learning, geospatial technology, human computer interaction or data science is a plus

• Bachelors in computer science, engineering or related discipline, graduate degree is a plus
