On behalf of our client, we're seeking to recruit a creative and technically skilled Furniture Designer responsible for developing innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing furniture products. The role involves conceptualizing designs, producing detailed technical drawings and 3D models, selecting appropriate materials, and collaborating closely with production teams to ensure all designs are cost-effective, ergonomically sound, and manufactured to high quality standards while aligning with the company’s brand identity and market demands.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
  • Develop creative furniture design concepts aligned with market trends and brand standards.
  • Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD and design software.
  • Prepare technical specifications, measurements, and material lists for production.
  • Collaborate with carpenters, joiners, upholsterers, and finishers to ensure design feasibility.
  • Select appropriate materials, finishes, fabrics, and hardware for furniture products.
  • Oversee prototype and sample development to ensure design accuracy.
  • Modify designs based on feedback from clients, management, and production teams.
  • Ensure designs meet cost, quality, ergonomic, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Maintain an updated portfolio of design concepts and completed products.
  • Research new materials, design trends, and furniture manufacturing techniques.
𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀
  • Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating furniture design expertise and creativity.
  • Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, and Rhino.
  • Sound understanding of woodworking, upholstery, and furniture manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of materials including wood, metal, fabrics, and composite materials.
  • Creative thinking with a strong aesthetic judgment.
  • Excellent technical drawing and spatial design skills.
  • Ability to translate design ideas into practical, production-ready solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to feedback.
  • Experience in a furniture manufacturing or workshop environment is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining, joinery techniques, ergonomic design principles, and prototyping is preferred.
𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
  • Combination of office/design studio work and hands-on involvement in the workshop.
  • Occasional travel to suppliers, trade shows, or client sites may be required.
