Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Logbook Loans to lead and scale our car financing division. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of driving sales numbers and an established network within the asset finance industry in Kenya.
Reporting directly to the Car Finance Division Manager, you will have full ownership of the Logbook Loan business unit. You will be responsible for formulating aggressive commercial strategies, expanding our agent networks while maintaining portfolio health.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Execution
● Formulate and execute the commercial strategy for the logbook loan product to meet business targets.
● Manage end-to-end sales operations, translating company objectives into actionable KPIs for internal staff and external agents.
● Map customer segments, generate leads, and drive loan disbursement volume.
● Track sales metrics dynamically and adjust strategies to ensure consistent target achievement.
2. Portfolio Quality & Origination Gatekeeping
● Act as the first line of defense against credit risk by ensuring that only high-quality, fully verified applications proceed to disbursement.
● Monitor early-stage loan performance to evaluate the quality of origination.
3. Agent Network Expansion & Management
● Identify, recruit, and onboard indirect sales agents to expand the logbook loan network.
● Train the agent network on product specifications, credit requirements, and anti-fraud procedures.
4. Team Management
● Supervise the daily activities of the logbook loan sales team.
● Provide training to sales staff to improve lead generation.
● Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback based on objective data.
5. Process & Reporting
● Identify bottlenecks in the origination workflow and implement improvements to optimize loan turnaround times.
● Prepare reports on sales performance, origination quality, and market trends for senior management.
● Maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including car dealers and indirect sales agents.
Qualifications & Requirements
● Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
● Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Banking or Microfinance sector, specifically managing logbook loans or asset financing portfolios.
● Proven track record of meeting sales targets and driving origination volume.
● Established network within the Kenyan asset finance industry, including direct relationships with car dealers, agent networks, and valuation firms.
● Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess credit risk at the origination stage.
● Proficiency in CRM software and Loan Management Systems.
● Clear communication, organizational, and team management skills.
● High ethical standards, professional integrity, and a clean corporate record.
