General Purpose Our client, a leading hospitality group operating a chain of busy hotels and restaurants in Kenya, is seeking experienced, service-driven, and results-oriented professionals to join their team in the role of Hotel / Restaurant Supervisor. The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, leading service teams, maintaining exceptional customer experiences, and ensuring operational efficiency across the establishment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily hotel and restaurant operations to ensure seamless service delivery and adherence to company standards.
 • Lead, guide, and monitor operational teams including service staff, reception personnel, housekeeping staff, kitchen support teams, and other departmental employees.
• Ensure guests receive exceptional customer service by maintaining high hospitality standards and promptly addressing customer concerns, feedback, and complaints.

• Conduct regular staff briefings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews to enhance service quality and operational effectiveness.

• Develop and manage employee duty rosters, shift schedules, attendance records, and workforce deployment to ensure optimal staffing levels.

• Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

• Oversee inventory management processes including stock requisition, stock usage monitoring, stocktaking exercises, and loss prevention initiatives.

• Ensure efficient coordination between departments to support smooth guest experiences and timely service delivery.

• Monitor daily sales performance, operational costs, and resource utilization while identifying opportunities to improve profitability.

• Support the implementation of promotions, events, customer engagement initiatives, and business development activities aimed at increasing revenue and customer retention.

• Prepare operational reports, incident reports, performance updates, and other management reports as required.

• Enforce company policies, procedures, and service standards while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in hotel, restaurant, or hospitality operations, with substantial experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.

• Strong understanding of front office operations, food and beverage service, customer service management, housekeeping coordination, and hospitality best practices.

• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, mentor, and motivate teams while maintaining high levels of employee engagement and productivity.

• Proven experience handling customer complaints professionally and implementing effective service

. • Sound knowledge of food safety regulations, hygiene standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and hospitality compliance procedures.
