Housekeeping/Cleaning Supervisor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Supervise, coordinate and monitor daily cleaning and housekeeping activities in commercial and residential properties.

· Assign duties, prepare schedules and ensure adequate staffing and coverage.

· Inspect sites regularly to ensure cleaning standards and client requirements are consistently met.

· Train, coach and mentor cleaning staff on procedures, safety, hygiene and proper use of equipment.

· Operate, supervise and ensure proper use of cleaning machines such as scrubber-dryers, vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, carpet extractors, pressure washers, and steam cleaners.

· Ensure proper maintenance, storage and reporting of cleaning machines and equipment.

· Ensure correct use, dilution, storage and handling of cleaning chemicals.

· Ensure staff use appropriate PPE and comply with health, safety and environmental standards.

· Maintain cleaning materials inventory and report shortages or damaged equipment.

· Handle client feedback, complaints and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.

· Prepare daily/weekly reports on cleaning activities, attendance, inspections and incidents.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, client SOPs and service level agreements.

· Promote team discipline, attendance, performance and a culture of accountability.

· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality and customer satisfaction.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

· 3–5 years of progressive experience as a Cleaning/Housekeeping Supervisor.

· Must be currently working or have recent experience working in a professional cleaning company.

· Demonstrated experience supervising cleaning operations in COMMERCIAL and RESIDENTIAL properties.

· Strong understanding of professional cleaning procedures, standards and best practices.

· Practical knowledge and experience in operating and maintaining commercial cleaning machines and equipment.

· Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their applications, dilution, storage and safe handling.

· Experience in supervising, scheduling and managing cleaning teams.

· Strong understanding of hygiene, sanitation, health & safety and environmental standards.

· Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple sites.

· Good organizational, reporting and time management skills.

· Physically fit, hands-on and able to lead by example.

· Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office will be an added advantage.

· Certificate/Diploma in Housekeeping, Facility Management, Hospitality or a related field is an added advantage.
