Minimum Requirements
1) Minimum Diploma in Human Resource Management.
2) Must be a member of IHRM.
A Education:
Bachelor of Commerce or a relevant degree with concentration in HR, Diploma/Higher Diploma in HRM, and IHRM certification
B Relevant Previous Experience:
Minimum 6 years of experience in HR department with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Worked as a HR Generalist preferably in a transport/ manufacturing set up managing blue collared employees. Experience with a payroll software will be an added advantage.
C Business Understanding:
1) Kenyan Labor laws understanding
2) Kenya Taxation rules and Statutory requirements- NSSF, NHIF, PAYE, NITA, HELB, WIBA
3) Compliance requirements and regulations for all Statutory authorities
D Knowledge:

VI Key Responsibilities
1) Ensures positions are closed as per agreed SLA`s
2) Ensure all new employees get a proper induction as per the Induction policy
3) Ensure that employees get paid on time with zero errors
4) Device, monitor & evaluate employee recognition policies & practices
5) Ensure goal sheets for all employees under GBPM`s are updated & uploaded on company drive.
6) Monitor Internal tracker on GPMS, to ensure monthly mentoring conversations are done, recorded and tracked for all employees under GPMS
7) Ensure all roles in the company have JD`s & goals
8) Ensure all staff get required training to do their job and progress in career
9) Ensure all the HR processes are conducted and delivered as per procedure within the timeline- hiring, appraisals, exit, payroll etc
10) Ensure all Health and Safety guidelines are followed and rules adhered to
11) Manage the employee grievances by channeling them to the authorities and following up until resolution
12) Manage the employees with poor performance, discipline issues, by constant counselling and ensure they get proper guidance and training
13) Ensure all employee records are updated at all times, devise and maintain employee database and Role Master
14) Provide training, mentoring and supervision of HR Clerk to ensure high performance, skill upgradation and leadership development.
VII Typical Tasks (indicative but not exhaustive)
1) Making changes in the payroll system –update new /exits /tracking any deductions.
2) Recruitment of new hire /back ground checks
3) Attend to injuries and occupational health hazard cases, disciplinary cases as and when they come up
4) Build training material for behavioral trainings- customer management, time management, soft skills etc, Evaluate and assess the training output and feedback for various training programs
5) Prepare all staff employee communication documentation, get the approvals and disseminate information
6) Plan the induction and onboarding for the new staff along with trainings for every quarter and communicate to staff.
VIII Typical KPIs (Top 5)
1) 80 % positions to be closed within three months
2) sign off of the HR policy manual
3) 90% of all JD`s to be signed off
4) Improvement of employee morale
5) Lower disciplinary cases from current numbers by 5 % ( clear policies and proper communication )
IX Typical Reports to be submitted
(mention frequency and to whom)
1) HRMIS report (it will cover the new joiners, exits, confirmations, disciplinary cases, Leave Costs) to be shared with all department heads and MD by 6th of every month.
2) Statutory payments tracker for Head of Finance every 20th of the month
3) Recruitment Tracker to be shared with MD by 5th of evert month
4) Training and Development report submitted to Head of Departments and MD by 10th of every month
5) Payroll to be submitted to Head of Finance by 28th of every month
