Job summary

Our client, a psychiatric hospital, is seeking a HR Officer. The job holder will support and strengthen their people management function. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing HR policies, supporting recruitment processes, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labour laws and healthcare standards.

Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

-Support end-to-end recruitment processes (job posting, screening, interviewing, and selection)

-Coordinate onboarding and induction programs for new employees

-Maintain candidate and recruitment records

2. Employee Relations & Engagement

-Act as a point of contact for employee queries and concerns

-Support implementation of employee engagement initiatives

-Assist in conflict resolution and grievance handling processes

3. Performance Management

-Support implementation of performance management systems

-Track performance review cycles and documentation

-Assist in performance improvement initiatives

4. HR Administration & Compliance

-Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases

-Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws and healthcare regulations

-Prepare HR reports and analytics as required

5. Training & Development

-Coordinate training programs and continuous professional development initiatives

-Track employee development plans and training outcomes


Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field, and have a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar HR role, preferably within a healthcare setting. They should demonstrate a good understanding of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices, and membership or progress toward IHRM certification will be an added advantage.


We recruit on a rolling basis and can close the procedure early if there are sufficient suitable candidates on or before 31st March 2026.
