Key Responsibilities
Human Resource Management
- Manage all employee matters relating to both permanent and casual staff.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Administer staff attendance, leave, disciplinary processes, and employee welfare programs.
- Coordinate onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and separation processes.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and statutory requirements.
HR Department Development
- Establish and operationalize the Human Resource Department.
- Design and implement HR systems, procedures, forms, and reporting structures.
- Develop employee record management and workforce administration processes.
- Introduce best-practice HR processes to support organizational growth.
Policy Development and Compliance
- Develop the Company's Human Resource Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Review and update HR policies in line with legal and business requirements.
- Drive implementation and adherence to approved HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct staff awareness and policy sensitization programs.
Recruitment and Workforce Planning
- Coordinate recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Develop and maintain a database of casual labour and skilled personnel.
- Support management in workforce planning and staffing requirements.
- Assist in identifying talent needs and succession planning initiatives.
Employee Relations and Performance Management
- Foster positive employee relations and workplace harmony.
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters professionally.
- Coordinate employee performance appraisal and development processes.
- Recommend training and development initiatives to improve workforce productivity.
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare HR reports and management updates.
- Monitor HR metrics and workforce trends.
- Coordinate statutory compliance matters relating to employees.
- Support management in organizational development initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration (HR Option), Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification such as CHRP(K) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Human Resource Management or Administration.
- Working knowledge of Kenyan Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Safety and Health requirements, and other relevant labour regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, engineering, or industrial environments will be an added advantage.
