Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, including vital signs and response to treatment.
- Operate and manage ICU equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitoring devices.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in resuscitation procedures.
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards at all times.
- Provide support and education to patients’ families regarding care and treatment plans.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Higher Diploma in Critical Care Nursing.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and holding a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an ICU or critical care setting.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an added advantage.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
