Insurance Officer

Our Client, a Group of companies with a well known brand in the FMCG sector is looking for a competent, well qualified Insurance Officer. Reporting to and deputizing the Head of Insurance, the incumbent will assist in the coordination of the group’s insurance relating to the design, development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures for the settlement of claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Insurance to Identify, design and develop strategies for risk assessment and risk management
• Conduct ongoing review and analysis of potential exposures critical to the business;
• Manage broker and underwriter relationships for continued success during renewals and throughout the year
• Assist in managing any marine/goods in transit covers;
• Assist in coordinating the group’s insurance programs, including identifying appropriate types, amounts and features of insurance coverage;
• Ensure all reporting requirements are met under existing and future insurance policies;
• Assist in designing and developing training to reduce risk to managers at all levels;

Key Qualifications, Competencies and Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the insurance industry in a corporate setting
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related relevant field
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of risks and necessary insurance products in such an environment
• Ability to analyze complex data and develop recommendations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
