Directly Report To: BUSINESS SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing technical support over the phone, email and in person, and maintaining the smooth operation of the ICT resources in secured network and communication infrastructure. In carrying out his/ her functions, the IT Assistant follows Chloride Exide specific technical performance standards in providing ICT support services.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support; answering support queries on the phone, through email or onsite at services
  • Maintain high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
  • Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user requests
  • Log all support calls on the service desk system and maintain full documentation
  • Maintain a log of any software or hardware problems detected
  • Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops
  • Installing authorized software’s on users’ laptops and desktops
  • Providing ICT training to staff in line with company policy
  • Help develop and maintain IT documentation, processes and procedures
  • Create and maintain documentation of incidents, processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Ensuring data backup and recoverability tests are done.
  • Assisting to ensure safe custody of all ICT equipment’s and systems
  • Continuous monitoring and maintenance to ensure integrity and availability of all ICT systems including, network, internet, applications, and servers.
  • Ensuring security and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops and kept up to date  Antivirus installation to all desktops, laptops and mobile devices
  • Work and liaise with suppliers and service providers to schedule and resolve faults as necessary
  • Any other duty assigned by the G-ICT Manager or direct supervisor


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, IT or related degree
  • At least 2 years’ IT experience supporting and administering company’s core systems
  • Proven experience in busy working environment - Hands-on experience supporting ERP systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
