Key Responsibilities
1. ICT Strategy & Planning
· Develop and implement the school’s ICT strategy in line with educational objectives.
· Recommend technology upgrades, improvements, and innovations.
· Manage ICT budgets and procurement, ensuring value for money.
2. Network & Systems Management
· Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of the school’s network (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi).
· Ensure network security, availability, and performance.
· Manage servers, user accounts, and backup systems.
· Ensure effective cybersecurity protocols are in place.
3. Hardware & Software Management
· Manage and maintain all school hardware (computers, tablets, projectors, printers, interactive boards, CCTV, etc.).
· Ensure software licenses are up to date and legally compliant.
· Oversee installation and troubleshooting of software used for academic and administrative purposes.
4. ICT Support & Helpdesk Services
· Provide timely technical support to teachers, students, and administrative staff.
· Coordinate and supervise the IT support team.
· Develop and enforce ICT support procedures, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
5. Data Management & Security
· Ensure secure handling of student, staff, and school data in compliance with data protection Standards.
· Manage backup systems and disaster recovery procedures.
· Conduct regular system audits and risk assessments.
6. Training & ICT Integration
· Train teachers and staff on new technologies, software, and digital tools.
· Support integration of ICT in teaching and learning.
· Collaborate with academic departments to provide digital learning resources.
7. ICT Infrastructure Maintenance
· Oversee maintenance and repair of ICT equipment.
· Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for IT systems.
· Ensure timely servicing of ICT equipment including CCTV, biometrics, PA systems, and projectors.
8. Policy & Compliance
· Develop and enforce ICT policies, including acceptable use policies.
· Ensure compliance with ICT standards, data protection regulations, and school policies.
· Prepare ICT reports for management and the Board.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
· Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, ITIL, Cybersecurity) are an added advantage.
· Minimum of 3–5 years of IT management or senior ICT support experience.
· Experience working in an educational institution is an added advantage.
