DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Landscape Design and Planning

·       Develop landscape designs, concepts, plans, and planting schemes for new and existing landscaped areas.

·       Prepare detailed landscape layouts, planting plans, sketches, and design specifications.

·       Assess sites and recommend suitable plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf, and other landscaping materials.

·       Select plants and landscaping materials appropriate for the local climate, soil conditions, water availability, and site requirements.

·       Assist with the planning and implementation of landscaping projects from concept through completion.

·       Estimate quantities of plants, soil, fertilizers, tools, and other materials required for landscaping activities.

Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance

·       Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, trees, shrubs, hedges, and other landscaped areas.

·       Perform mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, planting, watering, mulching, and fertilizing activities.

·       Plant, transplant, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, grass, and other plants.

·       Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and other problems.

·       Apply appropriate pest and disease control measures in accordance with safety and environmental requirements.

·       Prepare soil, planting beds, and other areas for planting and landscaping works.

·       Maintain irrigation and watering systems and report faults or required repairs.

·       Ensure landscaped areas remain clean, attractive, safe, and well maintained throughout the year.

Site Operations and Maintenance

·       Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely and correctly.

·       Ensure gardening tools, machinery, and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained.

·       Maintain accurate records of landscaping activities, materials used, plantings, maintenance schedules, and site conditions.

·       Identify damaged, unsafe, or deteriorating landscaping features and recommend appropriate corrective action.

·       Coordinate with contractors, gardeners, maintenance staff, and other relevant personnel when required.

·       Ensure all landscaping activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and organizational procedures.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

·       Diploma or Degree in Landscaping, Horticulture, Agriculture, Gardening, Grounds Management, or a related field

·       Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in landscaping, gardening, horticulture, grounds maintenance, or a related position

·       Practical knowledge of plant care, soil preparation, irrigation, pruning, planting, lawn maintenance, and pest management

·       Experience developing or implementing landscape designs and planting plans is highly desirable

·       Ability to read and interpret basic landscape plans, drawings, and design specifications

·       Good knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment, materials, and maintenance techniques
