JOB SUMMARY

PERSONS SPECIFICATIONS:For appointment to this post, a candidate MUST have the following academic and professional requirements: -An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university;Have published at least two [2] articles in refereed journals, andBe registered or registerable with the relevant professional body [where applicable].ORA Master’s degree in the relevant field an accredited and recognized university [in special cases] with at least three [3] years of teaching experience at the university level or in a research institution or industry; andA minimum of twenty-four [24 publication points], of which at least sixteen [16] should be from refereed journal papers; andRegistered with the relevant professional body [where applicable]; andProvide evidence of having registered for PhD and indication of progress on the same. Method of ApplicationQualified and interested applicants should submit to the undersigned: -Five [5] hard copies of application letter containing email address, day time telephone contacts and, detailed Curriculum Vitae detailing academic qualifications; professional experience; membership to professional associations; and names; telephone numbers and contact addresses of three referees; and certified copies of both academic and professional certificates.In addition to the mentioned hard copies, submit a running PDF file [Soft Copy] of the whole package of application specified in one [1] above, to the email provided.As applicable, referees’ confidential reports on the applicants’ suitability for the post should be sent to the under-signed via registered mail or courier or delivered by hand in an envelope marked with the reference for the post applied [For Example: "…FLEET DRIVER I - GRADE AD 4 REF. RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach and train in their area of specialization/expertise at undergraduate and graduate levels;Supervise and mentor both students and staff in their area of specialization/expertise;Lead research/innovation teams in area of specialization/expertise;Provide strategic leadership in development, audit and review of academic programs and research activities in their area of specialization/expertise;Be a member of the departmental and School academic board;Develop teaching program in their area of specialization/expertise;Solicit research funds and participate in funded research activities;Participate in administration and management of departmental programs and activities;Create networks, linkages, collaborations and partnerships with local, regional and international organizations in their area of specialization/expertise;Participating in research conferences and seminars;Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals;Participate in the development of departmental budget;Develop learning materials;Develop research/innovation products for income generation;Management and administration of examinations and assessments;Offer career guidance and mentorship;Perform any other related duty assigned from time to time; andAny other duties as may be assigned, prescribed and/or delegated by the immediate supervisor.
