Job Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistics operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement and storage of goods. The role ensures optimal service levels, regulatory compliance, and alignment with overall supply chain objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with business goals
Optimize transportation routes, distribution networks, and delivery schedules
Plan capacity requirements and logistics resources
Transportation & Fleet Management
Manage transportation operations, fleet, and third-party logistics providers
Monitor freight costs, delivery performance, and fuel efficiency
Ensure vehicle maintenance, safety, and compliance
Warehousing & Distribution
Oversee warehouse operations, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
Ensure accurate inventory handling and stock movement coordination
Implement best practices to improve warehouse efficiency
Import, Export & Compliance
Manage customs clearance, import/export documentation, and trade compliance
Ensure adherence to local and international logistics regulations
Cost Control & Performance Management
Develop and manage logistics budgets and cost controls
Track KPIs such as delivery timelines, freight costs, and service levels
Prepare performance reports for senior management
Risk, Safety & Quality
Identify and mitigate logistics risks and disruptions
Ensure health, safety, and quality standards are met
Develop contingency and business continuity plans
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead, train, and supervise logistics and warehouse teams
Coordinate with procurement, sales, and supply chain teams
Manage relationships with vendors, transporters, and service providers
Key Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
Professional certification (CILT, CSCP, or equivalent) is an added advantage
Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in logistics or distribution roles
Strong experience managing transportation and warehousing operations
