The Management Accountant will play a key role in providing financial insights, planning, forecasting, cost management, and decision-support analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, efficient cost control, robust internal controls, and continuous performance improvement within a manufacturing/FMCG environment.

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
· Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and performance dashboards.
· Support annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes.
· Analyze financial performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to management.
· Evaluate profitability by product, customer, channel, or business unit.
B. Costing & Cost Control
· Maintain and update product costing, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and cost absorption models.
· Monitor production costs, material usage variances, labour efficiency, overhead allocation, and yields.
· Support cost-reduction initiatives and track the impact of operational improvements.
· Conduct periodic cost audits across factories or business units.
· Monitor and evaluate sales, distribution, and marketing costs.
C. Reporting & Compliance
· Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, board packs, KPIs, and analytical commentary.
· Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and relevant accounting standards.
· Reconcile ledgers related to inventory, fixed assets, cost centres, and projects.
· Support statutory audits by preparing required management accounting schedules.
D. Business Partnering
· Collaborate closely with production, supply chain, procurement, sales, and commercial teams.
· Participate in pricing decisions, discount structures, and scenario modelling.
· Support strategic initiatives including CapEx evaluations, ROI analysis, and working capital optimization.
E. Internal Controls & Systems
· Strengthen internal controls related to costing, inventory management, and operational processes.
· Enhance utilization of ERP systems, BI dashboards, and automation tools.
· Review and improve processes to eliminate inefficiencies and ensure accurate, timely data capture.
3. Skills & Competencies
· Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
· Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
· Ability to present financial insights clearly and concisely to non-finance stakeholders.
· High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
4. Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification (preferred).
· 5–8 years’ experience in management accounting, costing, or FP&A.
· Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable.
· Strong background in budgeting, product costing, and variance analysis is essential.
