Job summary
A Marketer /Sales Executive specializing in the Kenya-to-China corridor is responsible for driving cargo volume growth, acquiring new import/export clients, and enhancing brand visibility. Operating in an intense B2B and SME landscape, this role focuses on selling Less than Container Load (LCL) consolidation and Full Container Load (FCL) shipping
Job descriptions & requirements
- Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: Identify and pitch to target clients, including small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), informal traders (e.g., Gikomba or Kamukunji merchants), and corporate manufacturers importing or exporting goods between Kenya and China.
- Service Promotion: Educate prospects on specialized shipping solutions, including sea freight, air cargo, container consolidation (LCL), customs clearance, and secure last-mile doorstep delivery in Kenya.
- Quotation & Proposal Management: Prepare tailored freight proposals, calculate accurate shipping quotes based on CBM (Cubic Meters) or weight, and negotiate pricing structures to secure high-volume accounts.
- Maintaining a high percentage of returning traders through effective customer service pipelines
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Marketing, International Trade, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: 2–4 years of proven B2B sales and marketing experience within freight forwarding, customs clearance, or express courier industries in Kenya.
- Solid understanding of the China-to-Kenya importing process, including Incoterms, container consolidation, and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) customs compliance
- Manage client databases via CRM tools, supporting local importers with tracking updates, cargo status documentation, and resolving transit delays.
