JOB SUMMARY
Education:A Master’s degree in journalism, Mass Media, Communications, Development Studies, or related fields required.Work Experience:At least 8 years’ relevant professional work experience in communication, print, broadcast media, and online media, including experience covering children’s issues for a child rights organisation such as UNICEF.Language Requirements:Mastery of English and Kiswahili are required, at the minimum, both oral and written.Knowledge/Expertise/Skills:Proven experience in developing media communication strategiesExcellent writing skills especially in writing press releases and articles/stories for traditional and electronic mediaProven ability to research, analyse, evaluate and synthesize informationSolid and proven media contacts and the knowledge of current theories and practices in communication research, and the role of mass mediaProven ability to work as part of a team and have a strong understanding of UNICEF programmesDemonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization
