Medical Laboratory Technologist

JOB SUMMARY

Academic Qualifications:Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.Registration with Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board (KMLTTB).A valid practicing license from KMLTTB.At least 2 years post registration experience preferably in a healthcare setting.Training and certification in Quality Management Modules such as ISO 15189:2022 implementation, uncertainty of measurement and method validation will be an added advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To ensure provision of quality, reliable and timely medical laboratory services in compliance with ISO15189:2022 standards, MOH guidelines and institutional policies.Conduct the laboratory tests carefully and accurately in accordance with the set standard operating procedures.Ensure proper maintenance of all the laboratory equipment and reports any problem experienced with a machine for assistance or for any repair required.This position calls for co-operation with other Laboratory staff and collaboration with other health care providers.Evaluate specimens received by laboratory and organize workflow to provide optimum efficiency of testing and turnaround times of results.Perform quality control, validation, and other quality activities to verify performance of assays.Evaluate inventory of supplies and reagents and communicate order needs.Maintain records of test results and archives of data.Maintain a safe, neat and clean work environment.Archive and track specimens.
