A prestigious day and boarding co-educational school, which offers the Kenya National Curriculum and the British Cambridge Curriculum, is inviting applications from well qualified applicants for the following positions:
We are seeking a highly experienced, mature, and disciplined Nursing professional to take full ownership of the health, safety, and wellbeing of students and staff across our school campuses.
This is a critical control role that underpins duty of care, regulatory compliance, and continuity of learning in a boarding school environment.
The role requires strategic thinking, operational excellence, and firm execution within established school health protocols.
The Nurse will serve as the primary custodian of medical services, hygiene standards, and coordinated care pathways involving hospitals, doctors, parents, and internal stakeholders.
NurseKey Responsibilities:


  • Provide comprehensive primary and emergency healthcare services to students and staff.
  • Supervise housekeeping in all areas of the institution including dorms, kitchen, classes and compound.
  • Lead and manage the school health unit in line with Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date medical records for all students and staff.
  • Coordinate referrals, admissions, follow-ups, and discharge care with hospitals and medical specialists.
  • Enforce infection prevention, hygiene, and sanitation standards across all campuses.
  • Advise school management on health risks, outbreaks, and preventive interventions.
  • Support student wellbeing programs, medical follow-ups, and health education initiatives.
  • Supervise any assigned nursing aides or support staff and manage medical supplies.


Minimum Requirements


  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ solid experience in a high-pressure medical environment, preferably a boarding school, paediatric hospital, or institutional healthcare setting.
  • Diploma or Higher Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor of Science in Nursing will be an added advantage).
  • Current registration and valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Demonstrated experience in care coordination, triage, and emergency response.
  • Proven competence in health records management, reporting, and compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • High levels of integrity, emotional intelligence, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Candidates aged 35 years and above are preferred.
  • Active retirees with strong institutional experience are encouraged to apply.
