Job Summary
This position is primarily responsible for online commerce including listing of products for sale, business marketing, and name branding and reputation development.
Job Objectives
The online Sales Manager will be focused on the operations of our e-commerce business with demonstrable experience for managing online sales / commerce projects, product launches and other operational activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement sales strategies and techniques to establish marketing goals so as to achieve maximum sales by promoting the products well on the internet.
- Identify and secure potential clients by e-mailing or direct meeting.
- Create and maintain positive client relationships to build business.
- Understand client’s needs and tailor products to meet client requirements.
- Create innovative ways to build business from individual accounts.
- Work with sales team to identify opportunities for new markets and growth.
- Coordinate with sales team to revise pricing and sales incentive plan to achieve marketing goals.
- Perform up-selling and cross-selling of products to clients.
- Conduct effective sales presentation for potential customers.
- Develop and maintain sales records of sales meetings, sales calls, new sales, closed sales, follow-up activities, etc.
- Evaluate and enhance current trade shows, conventions, and other marketing events to develop new opportunities.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing and resolving customer queries/issues in a timely manner.
- To develop, coordinate and implement the best practices for online sales and customer services and to ensure effective sales approach and assist the sales team personnel in closing sales whenever needed.
- To guide, instruct and give directions to all the sales team personnel and assist in organizing all the sales activities of the internet sales department.
- To understand the target audience and explain the use and operation of that particular product.
- To assist the internet sales people in various customer interactions and make sure that the customer satisfaction is enhanced during the entire purchasing experience.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business administration or management from a University recognized in Kenya.
- Diploma in marketing will be an added advantage.
- Have a wider knowledge on computer and internet operations.
- Five years of experience working on similar position.
- A member of the Marketing Society of Kenya.
- Self-directed and detail oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and solid judgment and confidence.
- Excellent computer and software skills including but not limited to: MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Experience with web application data entry programs and data development/management software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for application in dealing with all constituents – co-workers, vendors, and management staff.
- A team player able to work well in an energetic, dynamic and deadline oriented environment.
- Previous experience required in situations demanding strict adherence to confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
- Must possess analytic abilities of understanding financial perspective of the product portfolio and managing it.
- Ability to motivate and guide team members.
