Job summary

As the Operations Manager at Motorspeed Logistics and Fulfillment, you will be the engine room of our operations. You will oversee the end-to-end flow of goods from warehousing and "pick and pack" to last-mile delivery. Your primary goal is to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fleet & Logistics Oversight: Manage daily dispatch operations, optimizing routes for our motorcycle and vehicle fleet to reduce transit times and costs.
  • Warehouse & Fulfillment Management: Supervise our fulfillment center, ensuring accurate inventory management, efficient "pick and pack" processes, and seamless integration with e-commerce partners.
  • Countrywide Coordination: Synchronize operations between our Nairobi office and our field patners across kenya to ensure smooth logistics and returns management.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as delivery success rates, Cash on Delivery (COD) reconciliation accuracy, and rider productivity.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all operations comply with internal policy and regulatory frameworks and internal security protocols.
  • Customer Experience: Act as the point of escalation for complex delivery issues, ensuring a high level of professional service and problem resolution.


Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience- preferably in logistics, supply chain, or courier operations management. Experience in a fast-paced 3PL or e-commerce environment is highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Logistics Management Systems and the MS Office Suite (specifically Excel for data analysis).
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams of field staff (riders/drivers) and internalpersonnel with a focus on discipline and motivation.
  • Regional Knowledge: Deep understanding of the logistics landscape in Kenya, customs and cross-border regulations is a major plus.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills, the ability to work under high pressure, and a "boots-on-the-ground" leadership style.
  • Multi-tasking- Ability to work under pressure and make major decisions to ensure business growth and development.
