Job Description/Requirements
E. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES
2. Paediatrician (JOB GROUP CPSB 04) (1 POST)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Diagnose and/or treat cases in area of specialty.
ii. Provide expert opinions in case management.
iii. Conduct at least two Teaching major ward round weekly.
iv. Conduct a pediatric outpatient clinic at least one every week.
v. Management and supervision of the New Born Unit.
vi. Undertake monthly mortality audits and undertake remedial measures.
vii. Provide expert opinions on assessment and attributability.
viii. Advise on specialized medical problems and medical administrative problems.
ix. Teach within the confines of the specialty.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
i. Be a Kenyan Citizen.
ii. Must be a Holder of basic Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB).
iii. Must have obtained a Postgraduate Degree in Paediatrics and Child Health from a recognized University.
iv. Have other qualifications which, in the opinion of the Board, are appropriate to the duties of his/her Office.
v. Be registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
vi. Retained in the current register for Medical Practitioners.
vii. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
viii. Demonstrate a good understanding of the county Government's Mandate, HealthPolicies, Vision, Mission as well as Vision 2030.
ix. Demonstrate understanding of the commitment to the National Values and Principles of the Public Service Governance as espoused in the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Article 10 and 232.
x. Have capacity to understand multitasks within strict timelines.
xi. Be proficient in Computer Skills.
xii. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
b) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e) Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
