Minimum QualificationsPharmacy TechniciansDiploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institutionRegistered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of KenyaDemonstrable experience working in pharmaceutical laboratories, hospital pharmacies, or manufacturing settingsKnowledge of good laboratory practices (GLP) and basic laboratory safetyAbility to work effectively with students, academic staff, and laboratory personnelPersonal AttributesStrong organizational and communication skillsHigh level of professionalism and integrityAbility to follow instructions accurately and work under supervisionTeam-oriented with a commitment to student learning and safety

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the preparation and setup of pharmaceutical sciences practical sessions, including:PharmaceuticsPharmaceutical ChemistryPharmaceutical MicrobiologyPrepare reagents, solutions, dosage forms, and laboratory materials as requiredSupport students and lecturers during practical sessionsEnsure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, reagents, and laboratory wasteMaintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the laboratory environmentMaintain laboratory equipment and report faults or shortages promptlyAssist with inventory management of laboratory supplies and consumablesAdhere to university policies, safety standards, and professional ethics
