- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on all plant machinery and mechanical systems.
- Inspect machines regularly to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
- Lubricate, adjust, and replace worn-out parts to maintain optimal performance.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer specifications and maintenance schedules.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and machine failures within the plant.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system faults using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Repair or replace defective components to restore equipment functionality.
- Conduct root cause analysis of recurring faults and recommend long-term solutions.
- Assist in installation and setup of new plant machinery and equipment.
- Support commissioning activities to ensure machines are properly calibrated and operational.
- Test machinery after installation to confirm performance standards are met.
- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical systems, including motors, conveyors, pumps, and compressors.
- Monitor equipment performance indicators to detect early signs of wear or malfunction.
- Maintain inspection checklists and report any anomalies to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and repair reports.
- Document all breakdowns, repairs, and parts used for accountability and tracking.
- Prepare maintenance reports and submit them to the maintenance supervisor or plant manager.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures when working on machinery.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
- Report any safety hazards or risks identified during maintenance activities.
- Work closely with electricians, operators, and other technical staff to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians or assistants where required.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss maintenance planning and improvements.
- Suggest improvements to reduce downtime and improve machine efficiency.
- Participate in maintenance planning and optimization initiatives.
- Keep up to date with new mechanical technologies and maintenance practices.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in plant maintenance, manufacturing, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, plant machinery, and maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.
- Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
