Job summary

Our Client is looking for applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of Procurement Officer. Reporting to the CEO, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for overseeing the procurement and supply chain functions of the Association in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Job descriptions & requirements

Specifically, the officer will:
  • Ensure that the procurement process is compliant with the public procurement legislations and the internal policies
  • Develop the annual procurement budget and ensure that it is implemented in line with the approved framework
  • Schedule procurement activities in alignment with approved budgets.
  • Develop, review, implement and update internal procurement policies in line with the procurement legislations
  • Develop and issue tender documents, participate in the tender openings and evaluation and ensure that all awards are issued procedurally.
  • Manage all supplier contracts and ensure that all service level agreements are adhered to.
  • Supervise and track the performance of direct reports in liaison with the human resources department and ensure accountability within the team.


Requirements

To be appointed to this position, a candidate must have:
  • At least Seven (7) years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years at a middle management level in Procurement. Experience in the public sector will be an  added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supplies Management or its equivalent from a    recognized institution; 
  • Kenya Institute of Supplies Management [KISM] Membership or Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply [MCIPS] in good standing with valid practicing license; 
  • Certified Procurement and Supply Professional of Kenya CPSP(K) or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply [CIPS]; 
  • Excellent understanding of Government Procurement Regulations;
  • Computer proficiency, with a valid certificate in computer applications.
  • Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya (         2010).
  • Membership with a relevant professional body in good standing. Membership      should be renewed upto 2026
  • A valid Practicing Certificate.
  • Knowledge of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act,2015 is mandatory
