JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION MANAGER

JOB LOCATION: ALONG MOMBASA ROAD


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
People Management
  • Manage the scheduling of all production team members to minimize overtime and maximize output. 
  • Set departmental objectives and KPIs; regularly review and assess performance of direct reports. 
  • Train machine attendants, setters, and supervisors on optimal machine settings, ISO best practices, and Kaizen methodologies. 
  • Coach and develop a high-performing team that consistently meets objectives and implements best practices. 
  • Reorganize the Production Department as needed to improve efficiency, reduce overtime, and maintain quality standards. 

Production Management
  • Maintain all production records on SAP and ensure accuracy. 
  • Monitor production efficiency and tooling utilization, implementing improvements where necessary. 
  • Implement Kaizen and other process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational excellence. 
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Department to ensure minimal machine downtime and optimal tooling maintenance. 
  • Keep abreast of developments in plastic technology and recommend adoption of new technologies and techniques. 

Financial & Budget Control
  • Participate in management team meetings to recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Prepare the annual factory wages budget and forecasts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. 
  • Track monthly energy consumption and recommend energy efficiency programs. 
  • Manage project budgets from identification to completion. 
  • Recommend machinery replacements based on energy efficiency and operational ROI. 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
  • Degree in Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing.
  • Atleast 8 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 3years in management and 5 years in a technical role.
  • Experience working in a plastics manufacturing factory and knowledge of polymers and optimum processing conditions will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP or any similar ERP Systems.
  • Experience in Change management, manufacturing, industrial systems and processes.
