PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This position is responsible for ensuring production of high quality conforming products through efficient supervision of staff and operations to meet the customer needs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Carry out reconciliation of milk stocks, packaging materials and packed products.
2. Plan labour resources for smooth production.
3. Receive packaging materials according to days’ production plan.
4. Prepare production reports on a daily basis.
5. Plan and hold quality circle meetings with staff.
6. File of production records e.g. personnel and premises checklists etc.
7. Verify coding dates and weights.
8. Ensure the area of operation meets the acceptable level of hygiene through proper housekeeping and factory discipline.
9. Ensure timely evacuation/ transfer of products from the floor.
10. Ensure production of products that conform to Brookside quality standards and hand them to appropriate stores through the laid down procedures.
11. Maintain records in accordance with Brookside Dairy Quality Management System.
12. Ensure that all machines are in good working condition and report breakdowns promptly in accordance with the laid down procedures.
13. Uphold health and safety and environmental management requirements as stipulated in the OHS & EMS policies
14. Prepare and present daily/ weekly/ monthly reports to senior management.
15. Any other duties that might be assigned by the supervisor.
16. Provide technical support on Environment, Health and Safety Management System implementation as per the requirements of OSHA Act of 2007 and EMCA
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Academic and Professional Qualifications
● University Degree in Food Science and Technology, Dairy Science or a related field, or
● Diploma in Dairy, Food Science or a related field with 2 years’ experience, or
● Certificate in Dairy, Food Science or a related field with 5 years’ experience.
Experience
● Two years’ experience in a busy FMCG environment or exposure in Food industry during industrial attachment.
