Brief Background
We are a software consulting company specializing in Project Management and Software Testing. We have a collaborative approach to doing business and we like to keep our clients’ needs at the heart of what we do. We are a young company, and we are currently looking for an IT Project Manager to join our team.
This role will involve the following;
- Managing end to end delivery from inception right to implementation
- Creating and managing project schedules and budgets
- Reviewing and approving of all project deliverables (Initiation Plan, Detailed Plan, Test Strategies, etc.)
- Delivering projects to the agreed timeframes and budgets
- Defining project resource requirements and managing the ramp up and ramp down of the resources within your defined budget
- Working collaboratively with clients to identify their requirements, and then coming up with a strategy on how these requirements can be met
- Proactively identifying risks in projects and managing these risks to ensure a smooth delivery
- Escalation of project issues appropriately, to ensure quick and effective resolution
- Proactive management of software quality throughout the implementation life cycle
- Managing senior stakeholders and guiding them throughout the implementation process
- Establishing and maintaining regular communication on the project status with senior stakeholders and the Project Board and the Project Sponsor
- Developing relationships with the various heads of departments for the clients to get buy in on the project deliverables
- Measuring the performance of the project against milestones, time frames, deliverables, budget and resources
- Mentoring junior team members
- The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- A combination of a good technical back ground and strong leadership skills
- A project delivery track record
- Ability to define and implement project strategy, by managing budgets, schedules, resources and risks
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with different stakeholders especially across different geographic regions
- Ability to navigate his/her way through obstacles to achieve results.
- Self-driven and able to lead by example
- Flexible, resilient and adaptable to change
- Excellent communications skills (Written and Oral)
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills;
- 3-5 years in Project Management with experience managing at least 2-3 large projects with multicultural participants
- A degree in Information Technology
- Project Management Qualification (Prince 2 or PMP)
- A background in consulting is desirable but not mandatory
