SALARY KSHS. 30,000 – 40,000 (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)
JOB LOCATION SOUTH C, NAIROBI
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance & Control
· Inspect incoming produce for freshness, maturity, defects, and compliance with specifications.
· Supervise grading, sorting, washing, packing, and storage processes.
· Ensure only products meeting company and customer standards are dispatched.
· Conduct routine quality inspections across the supply chain.
· Monitor shelf-life and product condition during storage.
Food Safety & Compliance
· Implement and enforce HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and GHP standards.
· Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and internal policies.
· Train staff on hygiene practices and quality procedures.
· Support audits and certification processes.
Team Leadership & Coordination
· Supervise and guide the quality control team.
· Assign tasks and monitor performance of quality staff.
· Provide coaching and training to improve team efficiency.
· Collaborate with operations, procurement, and logistics teams to resolve quality issues.
Reporting & Documentation
· Maintain accurate records of inspections, quality reports, and corrective actions.
· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reports.
· Report non-conformities and recommend corrective measures.
· Document product losses and propose preventive strategies.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
· Degree in Food Science & Technology or a related field
· 1–3 years' experience in quality control within fresh produce, food processing, agriculture, or FMCG
· Diploma in Food Science, Horticulture, Agriculture, Quality Assurance, or a related field with relevant experience
· 2–4 years' relevant quality control experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
· Preferred Certifications; HACCP & ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems
· Experience in the fresh fruits and vegetables sector is highly preferred
