About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious Ramp Safety Officer to support safe & highest standards of safety and compliance in our inflight and airside operations. The role is critical in ensuring smooth, efficient, and incident-free ramp operations that align with company, airline, airport, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring ramp safety standards, conducting safety inspections and observations, supporting incident investigations, coordinating safety awareness initiatives, and ensuring compliance with company, airline, airport and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine airside/ramp safety inspections, observations and audits and identify unsafe acts, conditions and hazards.

  • Monitor compliance with airside safety procedures, airport regulations, company policies and customer requirements.

  • Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, including gathering evidence and following up corrective actions.

  • Monitor Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and follow up on safety-related defects and corrective actions.

  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, Five-Minute Trainings and other safety awareness initiatives.

  • Monitor validity of relevant airside permits, driving licenses, certifications and operational qualifications.

  • Maintain accurate safety records, registers, inspection reports and compliance documentation.

  • Analyze safety data, identify trends and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Support emergency preparedness and implementation of safety and business continuity measures.

  • Work closely with Operations, Safety, Security, Engineering/Maintenance, airport stakeholders and airline representatives on safety matters.

  • Support implementation of the organisation's safety programs and initiatives.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across airside operations.

  • Perform other safety-related duties as assigned by management.

Key Performance Areas

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate:

1. Safety & Compliance

  • Consistent monitoring and enforcement of airside safety standards.

  • Timely identification and escalation of safety risks.

  • Effective follow-up and closure of corrective actions.

2. Operational Safety

  • Effective monitoring of ramp activities, GSE and aircraft servicing operations.

  • Accurate completion of required safety inspections and observations.

3. Incident Management

  • Timely reporting and support in investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses.

  • Effective tracking of corrective and preventive actions.


4. Safety Awareness & Training

  • Effective delivery of safety briefings and awareness sessions.

  • Improved staff understanding and compliance with safety requirements.

5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Accurate and timely safety reports, records and performance statistics.

  • Effective identification and communication of safety trends.

6. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Professional engagement with airline, airport, customer and internal stakeholders.

  • Effective communication and escalation of safety concerns.



Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational background: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Aviation Safety, Airport Operations, Risk Management, or a related field.

  • Relevant professional certification in Health & Safety/Aviation Safety will be an added advantage.

  • Previous experience in aviation, airport, airside operations, ground handling or a related safety environment.

  • Good understanding of airside safety requirements, GSE operations, ramp hazards and aviation safety practices.

  • Experience in safety inspections, audits, incident reporting/investigations and risk assessments.

  • Good computer skills and ability to maintain and analyze safety records.

  • Ability to work shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends and public holidays, as required by airport operations.
