JOB SUMMARY
Academic & Professional Qualifications Masters in Anaesthesiology Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgerySpecialist recognition in Anaesthesiology2 years' experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend to all patients who require theatre services pre-operative, intra-operative, post-operative within hospital standard operating procedures, national and internationally guidelines.Conducting timely ward rounds/review patients in the hospital ICU and other hospital units in line with the hospital standard operating procedures, national, and international treatment guidelines.Accurate and clear documentation of patient history, physical examination, investigations, and management.Provide clarity of investigations to be carried out and interpretation of the results and ensure update to the patients and the next of kin. Facilitate patient admissions, necessary consents, and discharges.Counsel clients on treatment and compliance to treatment (patient and family) while ensuring their participation in decision making in their management.Carry out procedures and surgical interventions as per authorized/licensed privileges while ensuring high quality of care/services and safety of patients.Conduct family conferences in line with hospital standard operating proceduresParticipate in morbidity and mortality audits and meetings.Participation in incident reporting, root cause analysis and Quality Improvement PlanParticipate in the continuous review and improvement of departmental standard operating proceduresFacilitate Continuous Medical Education, mentorship, and skills training to colleaguesAcquiring new skills on best practices and proactively facilitate implementation. Maintain a positive work attitude and foster teamwork.Always maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.Ensure patient satisfaction through quality of care, communication, feedback and escalation and demonstrate follow-up and improvement.Ensure sustainability and growth by:Increasing the quality and diversity of services offered in the facility. Supporting outreach activities. Support revenue cycle management through ensuring pre-authorization, billing, and accurately filling of all necessary claims’ documentation.Maintaining awareness about credit limits.Ensure that Avenue corporate governance policies are adhered to. Prevent, detect and report any fraud or criminal activitytimely review and implementation of audit recommendationsEnsure adequate knowledge of all Avenue policies, procedures and systems as outlined in the HRMIS.Any other duty as assigned by your immediate supervisor in line with the job description.
