General Purpose
Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of premium food products, including ice cream and chocolates, is seeking to recruit an experienced, results-driven, and commercially focused Sales Team Leader to lead its sales operations in the Arusha region. The Sales Team Leader will lead and manage a team of Trade Development Representatives within the assigned region to drive sales growth, achieve revenue targets, maximize market coverage, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure effective execution of sales strategies while maintaining high standards of compliance and operational excellence.
Location: Arusha, Tanzania | Salary: TZS 1,300,000
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement regional sales strategies in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager.
- Drive sales growth through data-driven sales interventions and effective route-to-market execution.
- Allocate sales territories, routes, and targets to maximize market coverage and revenue.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, markets, customers, and product placements.
- Monitor sales performance, prepare reports, and support inventory planning through accurate sales analysis.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and outlet managers.
- Resolve customer issues promptly while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the sales team to improve performance and product knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Sales Force Automation (SFA) standards, and ethical business practices.
- Effectively manage allocated sales resources and budgets to maximize return on investment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in sales management, preferably within the ice cream, confectionery, or FMCG industry.
- Demonstrated experience in leading high-performing sales teams and delivering sales targets.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and customer relationship management experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and negotiation skills.
