ABOUT THE COMPANY
Laikipia University is a public Chartered University located 11 kms from Nyahururu Town along Nakuru Nyahururu Road.
JOB SUMMARY
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT:For appointment to this post, a candidate MUST have;Attained the rank of Inspector of Police or its equivalent ORBachelor’s Degree in Security related studies from a recognized institution;Attendance of a supervisory or other professional course lasting more than two weeks will be an added advantage; andExperience: At least six [6] years’ experiences in security services, three [3] years of which you must have served as Security Officer II or equivalent.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise security staff;Ensure security of all visitors of the University and making reports thereof;Enforcement of traffic discipline within the University;Make regular security surveys and reports summaries on campus security;Prevent and report any theft or loss of Laikipia University properties;Handle welfare matters of security staff e.g. uniforms, leave roster, off-duty, duty roster, etc;Carry out investigation of all security incidences such as fire, and assist in orderly movement of people to safe areas within the University premises;Collect and gather intelligence report including the CCTV surveillance;Ensuring that University’s assets are secured;Conduct security risk assessment;Implementing security policies;Review security reports to ensure efficiency and quality of Security operations;Ensure the implementation of security strategies and procedures;Coordinate security operations with public law enforcement agencies;Implement emergency management and contingency procedures;Prepare reports and submit security reports to the Vice Chancellor;Identify, investigate and resolve security breaches;Coordinate training and development of security staff;Supervise contracted security services; andAny other duties as may be assigned, prescribed and/or delegated by the immediate supervisor
